Lewis Hamilton has an important ally who “screams from the roof” to let Ferrari get his feedback from the seven-time world champion.
Italian media have been increasing pressure on Ferrari to pay attention to Hamilton’s feedback as the British Grand Prix continued its difficult and overwhelming start to the 2025 Formula One season.
The topic was discussed in the latest episode of the Sky Sports F1 podcast, with presenter Simon Lazenby citing Hamilton having a significant alliance in Jock Clear’s corner, where he worked for two years as Hamilton’s performance engineer at Mercedes before joining Ferrari.
“I spoke with Jock Clear. Jock Clear has worked with both of them with Lewis. He works with him at Mercedes and with him at Ferrari,” Razenby said.
“Make the most of things in terms of performance. In fact, if there’s definitely someone from the rooftop screaming, ‘Lis has to say,’ then his feedback is second to none.
“There’s a reason he won seven world championships. His feedback is amazing.”

How long will Ferrari prioritize Hamilton’s feedback?
1996 Formula One World Champion Damon Hill believes Ferrari should prioritize Hamilton’s feedback on Charles Leclerc in the future.
“There’s a lot to learn about the new team,” Hill said. “When you went somewhere, it was 11 seasons with Mercedes (sic).
“Just talking about people, you know who people are, you get the language, you know all the other factors. He’s working on a lot.
“I think when you don’t think you have a chance to develop with Charles, I think they have a chance to do something with Lewis.
“That’s the problem. If you go from one team to another, it takes a few years.”
Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft shared a similar view, claiming:
“There’s one upgrade to come to Ferrari’s spa, and then it’s this year. They won’t bring it anymore.
“They move around the cockpit and get hunched due to the rear space, so can they sort out the rear of the car that isn’t wet as damper would like?
“If that redesign and floor is working, if you get the setup and strategy right, you’ll see some better performances in the second half (of the season).
