The Cleveland Cavaliers finally snapped their unexpected defeat streak.
The Eastern Conference best teams defeated a terrible slump after losing a lost skid in a surprising four-game, dismantling the Utah Jazz on their home floor with a 120-91 collective routing.
In an astonishing season that landed them on one of their historic regular season teams, the Cleveland Cavaliers have recently become their biggest challenge.
Donovan Mitchell has admitted he struggled with form on a terrible show against the Suns, and he played a key role in beating the former team’s Jazz.
But beyond Mitchell’s great play, head coach Kenny Atkinson praised another Cleveland star for alleviating the team’s war cry for a much-needed victory.
Darius Garland made an inconsistent show with the Cavs’ wire-to-wire victory over the Jazz, shooting 1/3 (2) from the field, leading to a 12-point outing in 26 minutes of play.
However, in the passive show, he was still responsible for igniting the Cavaliers and controlling the matchup according to Kenny Atkinson.
In a post-match interview, the head coach recounted how Garland enjoyed the moment when he influenced the Cavs and brought him a weekend victory.
“I think there was a DG,” Atkinson said. “He said in one of his timeouts, ‘Coach, how about fun? Let’s have fun, let’s compete fiercely.”
“I said it’s okay, let’s have fun. Put a smile on your face. We love this game. I think we’re in a bit of a patch here.
“So it was good to see us go back to it.”
In fact, Cavs have been tested frequently in the last four games.
Cleveland has lived at the top of the NBA leaderboard throughout the season, urging him to consider it one of his clear favorites to win it alongside the Oklahoma City Thunder and the extant defending champion Boston Celtics. NBA legends praised them for their amazing year.
After hitting the losing stretch, Garland remains optimistic, confident about his ability to fight back and redeem the cabsteady team’s abilities, and he doesn’t panic.
“It happens, everyone loses the game,” Garland said. “We know how good we are and how we are locked up to win important games, so we are trying to get back to it.
“We knew we were going to hit stretches, and we were going to hit a wall one day. That’s exactly how the world works. Unfortunately, these four games were our day when we didn’t look good or had a great game.
“So we’re trying to get back on track here, leading to another 16 (winning).”
As their record improves to 57-14, the Cavs’ ability to rekindle their brilliance will be tested and face the Portland Trail improvement Blazers for the final leg of the five-game road trip on March 25th.
