The Memphis Grizzlies won their season home opener against the New Orleans Pelicans in an exciting game.
The New Orleans Pelicans took an early lead and led by as many as 15 points.
However, the Memphis Grizzlies made a comeback led by Ja Morant, who scored 35 points.
The Grizzlies had a strong start to the season with seven players scoring in double digits.
Jaren Jackson Jr. was one of the Grizzlies’ players to score in double figures.
He fouled out and finished the game with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 blocks in just 27 minutes.
He returned to Defensive Player of the Year form and had an impressive game that might have been overshadowed by Victor Wembaneyama’s dominance against the Dallas Mavericks.
Many are quick to name Victor Wembaneyama the best defender in the league, but Jackson Jr. proved he has a great chance to elevate Wembaneyama and win that award.

Morant appeared for the Grizzlies after missing the entire preseason schedule with an ankle injury.
After several years of slump, the Grizzlies are looking to make a comeback in the 2025-26 season.
For the Grizzlies to be successful this season, star point guard Morant will need to stay healthy.
Morant is off to a strong start this season with a game-high 35 points and hopes to have an All-Star season for the Grizzlies.
