The Golden State Warriors fought adversity to claim an opening victory with the Minnesota Timber Wolves.
The injury to Stephen Curry caused many NBA fans to fear that the series would end before it began.
And although Curry couldn’t complete Game 1, the Warriors were enough to see it.
Draymond Green was described as “amazing,” but NBA legend Magic Johnson claims that another person is the real key to their success.
Magic Johnson paid tribute to the Warriors’ smarts and discussed that this was a reflection of coach Steve Kerr.
In X’s post, he wrote:
He also points to their starter rio, adding that players also have a lot of intelligence between them.
“The Warriors are also the smartest team in the NBA, with basketball IQ and leaders Steph, Draymond and Jimmy. That’s why they beat the Timberwolves last night!”
Steve Kerr has one of the biggest challenges of his career after the extent of Stephen Curry’s injury was revealed.
Curry is set to miss at least the next three games, leaving the Warriors in a tough predicament as they try to retain the series’ advantage.
Kerr is blessed with the way Buddy Hield has stepped up in the last two games and has to find a way to maintain his consistency.
He will also need to maintain Draymond Green’s offensive output in the last two games, for the first time in the playoffs this season.
His real miracle is that if Pat Spencer can make an impact, Kerr has vowed to be the former lacrosse star, so curry increases in minutes on the bystanders.
If NBA coaches can fill the challenge of Curry going out, it’s definitely Kerr.
