Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most exciting superstars in the NBA.
He already has one of the most stacked resumes, and former NBA player Kendrick Perkins considers him to be the second best power forward ever.
The Greek freak is one of the best two-way players in the league and has been overlooked this year in MVP conversations.
Again, Giannis Antetokounmpo has an extraordinary season with an average split of 30-11-6.
Recently, he had to adapt a new role that required Antetokounmpo to handle more of the ball due to Damian Lillard’s injury.
He was stepping up and was key to a strong finish for the Milwaukee Bucks season, winning the final seven games.
After setting up another monster 32-point triple double, the two MVPs made strong claims about his abilities.
Antetokounmpo said he is one of the best defensive players in the league. Especially given the fact that he is an elite scorer.
The 30-year-old certainly isn’t wrong, and even has this year’s defensive player of the year trophy to support that statement.
Antetokounmpo leads the league in player impact and usage.
Speaking about his defensive capabilities, Antetokounmpo said:
“I’ll be very honest with you. It’s kind of hard to have so many offensive loads to play defense at a very high level, but for now, if you’re scored at a really high rating for all the top players in the NBA, I think I’m really one of the best defensive players.”
Antetokounmpo has detailed how it affects the game on both ends by scoring and introducing the resilience of the defensive side.
“You can go from the top 10 scorers in the league. I think I can also have a defensive impact on the game from my defensive rebounds, bias, blocking, just getting myself there, my team needs to do that on me,” Antetokounmpo said.
Kevin Porter Jr. came to the Bucks during the season and was a key player who left the bench for the Bucks.
The guards benefited greatly from playing alongside Antetokounmpo as they get more looks for the attention the 2021 NBA champions get.
He said he disliked opposition to Greek freaks when playing for opposition teams.
Speaking about the two MVPs, KPJ said:
“Every time I played the Bucks, when I was on the opposite team, I hated him. It was like Giannis. I knew exactly what he was going to do, I knew I was here, I knew I was here, I didn’t just play against it, I didn’t just see it from afar, he aimed for greatness.
