The NBA is currently so global that many of the league’s best players are not from the US.

Nikola Dzhokic (Serbia), Giannis Antetocomo (Greece), Luka Donsic (Slovenia), and Shay Gilgauss Alexander (Canada) were all born elsewhere.

This means that international tournaments such as the ongoing Eurobasket are more competitive than ever.

Those following European competition this summer are familiar with many top performers, with the exception of one former Toronto Raptors player.

The top three major scorers in the Eurobasket 2025 so far are Donsic, Antetocomo and Laurimalkanen (Finland).

Famous NBA players Dennis Schroeder (Germany), Franz Wagner (Germany) and Alperen Senggan (Turkey) are also in top form at the competition.

However, the fourth-highest scoring player in the Eurobasket is Polish International Jordan Lloyd, which many NBA fans may not remember.

Lloyd played one season with the Toronto Raptors and the NBA (2018/19) and joined Kawi Leonard to win the championship.

He spent the next six seasons with teams in Spain, Serbia, Russia, Israel and France, and is currently playing for Monaco.

But perhaps, after outscores a superstar player like Jokic from Eurobasket, the NBA return could be on Loyd’s card.

Jordan Lloyd only played 12 times for the Toronto Raptors in the regular season of 2018/19, but never in the playoffs.

He averaged 2.4 points with 44% efficiency from the field in under five minutes per game.

His biggest contribution to the Raptors’ title-winning team was probably put into practice during the NBA Finals.

Lloyd mimicked Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry.

“Jordan was a true expert all year round after a great season in the G League,” Kyle Lowry told Linger. “His help was incredible.”
