Former Arsenal Winger Jermaine Pennant has warned the club fans that he doesn’t expect much from his new signature, Victor Gyoker.
The former gunner is concerned that it wasn’t the best debut for Swedish International as he made the Premier League bow in a 1-0 win over Manchester United over the weekend.
Riccardo Calafiori scored early when Arsenal scored a fierce battle victory when Man Utd was probably on the better side overall and Gyoker hadn’t had much of an impact.
Pennants feel they may see Gjokers struggling with British football, as they have a standard that is much higher than the Portuguese League.
See below as critics warned Arsenal fans that they don’t expect to repeat the number of types that former sports Lisbon guy had in Portugal…

“There’s a player there,” Pennant said. “Yes, his numbers in the Portuguese Federation were incredible.”
“But… so did Darwin Nunez, who had 35 goals in 38 games, but we didn’t see any of those numbers in the Premier League.
“The Premier League is another beast. It’s much stronger, it’s much more physical, and there are better players.
“It’s going to be difficult… he’ll do well, but Arsenal fans shouldn’t expect the numbers he’s been raising in the sport.”
Arsenal will now face Leeds
Arsenal fans are not too plagued by their team’s performance as they have taken all three points from their difficult trip to Old Trafford.
Next is a simpler game as Mikel Arteta’s game host Leeds United at Emirates Stadium.
Still, it’s an overall tough start as Arsenal pulls Liverpool away from home. So Arteta needs to see more from the players in that Leeds game.
