Former Los Angeles Lakers player Danny Green believes Anthony Davis continues to be underrated by critics despite consistently proving that he is one of the NBA’s elite talents.
Danny Green’s comments sparked a massive hit trade that brought Davis to the Dallas Mavericks and brought Luka Donsic to the Lakers.
“He has the same mindset as Luka. He wants to let them know that they’ve made a mistake. People are looking down on the ads.”
“This is part of the reason he’s back at the end of the season. Let people know. I’m also one of the great players in this league, so I traded it for Luka.”
The trade continues to dominate the NBA conversation between the Lakers and Mavericks, which are scheduled to face each other on Thursday (April 10th).
This highly anticipated matchup marks the first time that Anthony Davis and Don Sic are in new uniforms with their previous teams, together on the court, with Davis missing the game in Los Angeles.
Green believes tensions will rise during Thursday’s contest. In particular, both teams are still fighting to secure playoff positioning in the highly competitive Western Conference.
“He’s one of the best two-way players the league has ever seen,” Green emphasized.
“He’s trying to show the night, especially to the team (who traded him).
Davis and Donsic are excellent in their new teams after the deal. Davis has been particularly impressive since returning from injury, scoring 27 and 34 points in his final two games against the Mavericks.
Meanwhile, Doncic is seamlessly integrated into the Lakers system under the supervision of JJ Redick. His partnership with LeBron James effectively replaced the dynamic duo James, who had previously formed with Davis during the championship run.
Doncic averages 27.3 points, 7.7 assists and 8.3 rebounds with the Lakers. It’s very similar to his production in Dallas.
When Thursday’s showdown approaches, these two superstars have all their eyes as they will face their first time against their previous team.
