The Kevin Durant Trade Saga has finally finished with the Houston Rockets appearing as the new destination for two-time champions.
ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported that the Phoenix Suns traded Kevin Durant for the Houston Rockets and Jaylen Green, Dillon Brooks, and the No. 10 picks and five second-round picks in the draft.
Houston was one of the destinations Kevin Durant, 36, mentioned on his favorite list.
It was reported that the Miami Heat had presented their offer, but the Suns decided the Rockets trade was the best and made the deal a few hours before they reduced their hints for the NBA Finals.
ESPN also reported that there were four wildcard suitors at the KD sweepstakes.
According to ESPN sources, teams including the Toronto Raptors, Cleveland Cavaliers, La Clippers and Denver Nuggets made an approach for Durant.
However, the Suns swapped the previous MVP for one of his preferred destinations after several weeks of discussion with other teams.
Durant and Houston head coach Idoka worked together during the player stint with Brooklynnet.
The news of the trade was broken by KD when he joined the Fanatics Fest, and he told the crowd “We’re going to watch.”
All of Durant’s favorite destinations were the roster with young stars.
Miami Heat fans were less pleased with the organization after the trade news broke.
They wanted the organization to bring KD to the roster at any cost and to be disappointed with X.
He now heads to Houston, where he plays with the talented young duo of Amen Thompson and Alperen Senggan.
Losing a player like Brooks would be a bit difficult for the Rockets, as it brought a lot of energy and amazing defense, but once KD comes in, the team’s scoring difficulties could be eliminated.
One of the reasons why KD wanted to trade with a team like the Rockets is the young core they have.
Now that he has the move he wanted, we can expect a big campaign from him.
His stint with the Suns was not a huge success, but now he’s on a rocket with an exciting roster and a good coach, so KD can express himself and compete for the championship.
The slim Reaper’s scoring ability fits well with Thompson’s two-way brilliance and Sengung’s dynamic abilities, and the Rockets become a Western competitor and the full offseason is still growing.
