Ferrari team principal Fred Vasser criticised the F1 media section, claiming that “offensive” rumors and speculation about the team led to “unnecessary” confusion.
Ferrari endured the unfortunate first half of the 2025 F1 season.
They are the only team in the top four of the rankings of non-winning constructors.
The 2025 F1 Challengers are not meeting expectations and are plagued by problems.
Recent upgrades have made Ferrari the second fastest team, but their progress is hampered by the fact that Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton have to manage the wear on the board at the end of the race.
This theory was submitted after Leclerc’s pace fell at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Leclerc came in fourth from the challenge for a victory in the hanger ring.
Ferrari’s unfortunate on-track format led to speculation about Vassar’s future.
However, Vasseur recently signed a new contract to keep him as the team’s principal next year and beyond.
Vasseur admitted speculation about his future, and that the general team “provoked chaos” and led him to take a swipe in the press.
“The rumors sparked confusion,” Vasser told Ams. “I didn’t start them. The media did. Neither Ferrari nor me spoke.
“But today you can’t avoid such interference. I don’t want to tar all journalists with the same brush, but on the internet, reports have become much more aggressive. There is pressure to generate clicks.”
Ferrari rumors are “too much”
Rumors appeared before the Canadian Grand Prix, claiming that Vasuzer would be replaced as the team’s principal.
Vasser was immediately supported by Leclair and Hamilton when he spoke to the media in Montreal on Thursday.

The French defended 24 hours later, saying the report was “disrespectful.”
Vasseur explained that speculation had affected the team and that his new contract would have been sorted earlier if there were no rumors.
“When these rumors first surfaced in Canada, I was really mad because they went too far,” he added.
“My technical director, Loïc Serra, was accused of not doing a good job. Still, when Loïc started working for us, the 2025 car was actually ready.
“The story with Charles Leclerc was similar. Some people regularly write that Charles goes to Mercedes. No one cared about how he repeatedly confirmed that he had a long-term contract with Ferrari.
“It affects the team. In Italy, people react more emotionally. Without this background noise, my discussion with Ferrari would have been much faster.”
