According to MLB Insider Jeff Pasan, Los Angeles star Freddie Freeman and his wife Chelsea Freeman have donated $1 million to Orange County Children’s Hospital.

The hospital is where his son Maximus recovered after a severe case of Gillanbale syndrome, leaving him in the pediatric intensive care unit for more than a week last July.
“I had an impact on Chelsea by seeing all the rooms fill up every day,” Freeman told ESPN. “Choco saved Maximus’ life by knowing doctors, nurses, care teams and seeing how they show up every day to bring healing and hope to children and their families.”
A journey into the fall classic was undoubtedly one of the most difficult and emotional times for the Freeman family. In July, Freeman’s 3-year-old son Maximus went in and out of the hospital shortly after the All-Star break.
On August 1, Freddie and Chelsea Freeman announced that their son had been diagnosed with Guilanbale syndrome. A few days later, Freeman returned to the lineup and received a standing ovation from fans in his first at-bat of the game.
Freeman reportedly considered retiring during his fear of his son’s health, but Maximus recently celebrated his fourth birthday in March.
