The Los Angeles hurt All-Star base-handed Freddie Freeman from the opening day lineup within an hour of the Tokyo Series’ first pitch due to a discomfort in the ribs on the left.

After the match, Freeman provided Jack Harris of the LA Times and Bill Plunkett, an Orange County Register, with updates on his condition.
Freeman said he felt uncomfortable in the same area of the ribs that were injured in last year’s postseason run.
But he added that it wasn’t much more serious around the team, and even said he wanted to play in the season opener on Tuesday.
He put it down 75% of the time he could play on Wednesday, depending on how it felt.
The were able to manage without Freeman on Tuesday, defeating the Chicago Cubs 4-1 (click here for a full game summary and highlights).

Game 2 of the Tokyo Series is Wednesday, and the will return to Los Angeles and begin preparing for their first day in the country on March 27th.
