The Los Angeles have revealed Monday’s series opener lineup for the Atlanta Braves. With a surprising move, Freddie Freeman is not there.
The were off on Sunday, but Freeman was out of the lineup on Monday.

Freeman doesn’t like the lack of the game, but he dealt with the issue of ribs during the Tokyo series that kept him out of the lineup of both games. The rib’s discomfort was in the same place he dealt with pain in last year’s World Series, but not so serious.
As of last week, following the highway series, ahead of the first day, Freeman said there was no more problem.
“Hopefully it will be an afterthought by Thursday (first day),” Freeman said last week. “I bumped into a cage and could do whatever I wanted to do on Game 2 (in Japan) day, but I didn’t know if it would come back or how fast the game was.
He also said at the time he was convinced that it was due to accumulation of scar tissue from places healed over the offseason.
Manager Dave Roberts is planning to talk to reporters soon, revealing why Freeman is not in the lineup.
