Los Angeles star Freddie Freeman spent time on the list of injured early in the season due to an injury to his right ankle.

Freeman was having a “disaster” in the shower, so his first baseman fine-tuned his ankle, which was not at his first 100%.
Freeman returned from the 10-day injury list and essentially picked up where he left off, but the 35-year-old ankle still needs daily treatment almost two months into the season.
The first base hand receives “about an hour and a half” pre-match treatment at the right ankle, and the process does not end there. Freeman taps his ankles to stabilize, wears a heel lift with the cleats to assist his first base hand when he runs.
Despite the massive treatment, Freeman played all games on the ‘ 10-game road trip. The first baseman asserts that he is in the lineup every day.
“He’s sick,” Dave Roberts said via Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times. “But he’s really moving, and he’s doing a great job playing with the governor, managing it and knowing when to pick his spot or manage his job.”
The All-Star break is when the team’s training staff want Freeman’s ankles to feel relatively normal and not require much treatment.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Freeman told Harris.
Freeman’s pre-game routine may be challenging, but it appears to be rewarding as the star hit .376 with nine home runs, 33 runs hit and an OPS of 1.171. He won the NL Player of the Week Award on Monday.
