Los Angeles base-handed Freddie Freeman is out of the team lineup for Wednesday’s series finale against the Cincinnati Reds.
Manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Freeman has a “stinger” on his neck/shoulder, but he shouldn’t miss that much time.

Roberts said Freeman is expected to return to the lineup on Friday. However, Freeman doesn’t like to miss out on the game, meaning he’s sitting in the finale of Wednesday’s series.
For now, Kique Hernandez is filling in with a base.
It is unclear how Freeman was injured, but according to Roberts, it does not appear to be a serious problem. Nevertheless, the are about to win a sweep on Wednesday night, so there will be no All-Star base move.
Freeman is in the middle of another dominant season, cutting .302/.373/.501 with 18 home runs and 75 RBIs. His .302 batting average leads the National League as the left-hander competes for the first batting title of his career.
Freeman recently spoke about his quest for a batting title and admitted that it’s something he wants to win, but that’s not exactly what he “goes”.
“Are I nearby? Yes. Is it cool to win? Clearly it’s very cool to win,” Freeman said. “But if you can’t win, it won’t take away from the good years you had.”
“I’m not trying to win a batting title,” he added. “I’m just trying to be myself. I’m just trying to have a good year.”
