Arsenal is interested in signing Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in LA La Liga, with multiple clubs keen on him. According to a report from Spanish Publications Sports, Manchester United and Manchester City are keen on players, but he is most likely to join Arsenal in the end.
Arsenal can use a high-quality backup goalkeeper, and the 23-year-old can compete with David Raya in the starting spot. He stands out in La Liga and has the quality to establish himself as a key player in the Premier League. He could be the ideal long-term alternative to the London Club Raya. His arrival allowed him to organize his goalkeeping department for the near future.
The player has a release clause of 25 million euros on the contract. Also, if the transfer does not complete the last 15 days before the transfer window, it could go up to 30 million euros. Arsenal certainly has the financial muscles to get the deal done, so they should ask you to complete the sign in soon.
Garcia has all the attributes to develop into a top-class goalkeeper. He could become an asset for Arsenal in the long term.
Man United and Man City want Joan Garcia
Meanwhile, it’s no secret that Manchester United need a quality goalkeeper. Andre Onana is extremely disappointing, and his errors are at the expense of valuable points. They will need to bring an upgrade to the former Milan star before them, and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to sign Garcia.
As far as Manchester City is concerned, Ederson is linked to travelling from the club and he needs to be replaced properly. He is exceptional for the Premier League champions, and they need to fill in the void he left behind.
