Liverpool forward Cody Gappo ended with him signing a new contract in the summer transfer window saga involving Bayern Munich.
Dutch International was linked at one point as Bayern’s transfer target, as Christian Folk covers in the CF Bayern Insider column.
However, it was suggested at the time that Gakupo might have used Bayern’s interest to help him sign a new contract at Anfield.
Either way, Bayern signed Liverpool’s Louis Diaz, with Gakupo committing his future to the Reds.
Gakpo finally broke his silence in this saga during an interview with ESPN.

When asked about his link to Bayern, Gakupo said:
He added:
“It’s difficult because a lot is going on. Other clubs are coming to you, but you might want to stay with your own club. Everyone is dealing with it in their own way, but it’s definitely difficult. If the future is uncertain, it becomes a very difficult story.”
Gakupo is an important player in Liverpool
The LFC appears to have done the right thing by keeping Gakpo, who had been shining during the club.
The 26-year-old scored 18 goals in all competitions on Arne Slot’s side last season, playing a key role in the success of his Premier League title victory.
Diaz was also a key player for Liverpool, but it seemed a little more uneasy as Columbia International left.
However, Liverpool’s offense remains very strong. Florian Wiltz, Hugo Ekitique and Alexander Isaac are all participating this summer.
