Liverpool closed their Premier League title yesterday with a comprehensive victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Reds are now garnering the 20th league title in their history, and they are now leveling conditions with their bitter rivals Manchester United. After a long wait for Liverpool, they finally managed to climb again to the top of British football.
Former Manchester United star Gary Neville considers Liverpool to be the biggest club in the UK now, especially due to his achievements in European football. Liverpool has six Champions League titles compared to the three Manchester United winners. So it certainly makes sense to consider them as the largest club in the country.
Neville spoke about the debate between Liverpool and Manchester United between the country’s biggest club.
Gary Neville’s claim will make Man United fans frustrated
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can come back strong next season based on their success. They have a talented team and have some intelligent additions, so there’s no reason they can’t win more titles in the upcoming season.
They certainly look to outperform Manchester United in another title victory next season.
Meanwhile, the claims from Neville certainly disappoint Manchester United fans, and despite their reluctance to admit it, the Reds clearly return to their perch once more. It’s a disastrous campaign from Manchester United, and they’re set to end up in mid-table positions. It is still unclear whether he will win the UEFA Europa League and will be able to finish at a high price.
Their failure, coupled with Liverpool’s title win, will certainly leave a better taste in the mouth for Manchester United fans.
