Gary Payton unravels what he’s looking forward to from the 2025 NBA Finals and why the Thunder and Pacers play an incredible series.
The 2025 NBA Finals will be featured on us, with the Oklahoma City Thunder hosting the Indiana Pacers for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
If the series is now seven games, there will be a schedule that lasts almost three weeks. It should be an exciting series.
Here in the NBA analysis we make predictions for the finals and think we’ll win between the Pacer and the Thunder.
But what does NBA legend Gary Payton expect from this series? I had the opportunity to attend a press conference with Grove and his comments were very interesting.
Gary Payton spoke at a recent press conference in Mumbai, India. He was asked about his expectations from the 2025 NBA Finals and the series.
Glove believes that the two teams are excellent at controlling the pace. However, he hopes the series will come to their superstars, Shay Gilgauss Alexander and Ty Halliburton.
“These two teams, they have other players that dominate. Now it’s a different style of basketball. When I played, I was able to put my hands on them.
“What you do with either guard is to get the ball out of your hand and win a basketball game against the others.”
“This is going to be a great series because they all come together really well and they both have great defenses. They’re athletic in all positions.”
“Two superstars, especially MVP Shy Gilgauss Alexander, you have to remove the ball from his hand, letting the others take you down.
“If you’re going to get them out of their game and make it difficult for them, beat someone else in the situation to win a basketball game.”
Gary Payton was also excited for the NBA Finals. He considers Pacer and Thunder to be two of the best NBA teams, and wouldn’t be surprised if the series went into seven games.
“I like them because they both defend. Both teams have five guys who can go to each other. I think it’s going to be a great series. I think it’s going to be a seven-game.”
“The first person to lose on the home court will probably be a loser. I look forward to this, something we’ve been looking forward to for a long time. Two basketball teams are where the two basketball teams play against each other and get a reputation there.”
“They are the two best teams in the NBA right now. OKC is the best team all season, winning over 60 games. Let’s see what Indiana got for them.”
“They surprised a lot of people when they left the east. I thought Boston would do that, but Indiana is right there. I think these two best teams in the NBA will show who the best teams in the NBA are.”
The NBA Finals will be a great display of high-level basketball.
