Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel claims that his old club left things in a very high position in his previous efforts to sign Victor Osimen.
The former blues midfielder feels he won’t make more calls than a call to resume his bid to take Osimen to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Mikel is sure that his fellow Nigerians want to join Chelsea and his idol is the blues great Didier Drogba.
Osimhen is currently renting out from Napoli through Galatasaray, but certainly won’t be staying in Türkiye for the long term.
This will give Chelsea the opportunity to try again this summer for Osimhen. Mikel feels it would be a shame if the West London giants didn’t pursue this deal.
John Obi Mikel said “I’ll put him in” Chelsea, so he’s sure Victor Osimhen would like to join.
Speaking on his podcast, Mikel revealed that he was extremely keen to watch Osimhen move to Stamford Bridge.
“Listen, it would be really sad if they didn’t get players who would support their kids and want to play for this football club,” said the former Chelsea midfielder.
“His idol is Drogba. He’ll want to break records, win our trophies, bring us back to the top and come to Drogba’s records.
“If the club chooses not to pursue it, then I wish them all fair enough, good luck, but the good thing about it is that we know where we left it.
“Let him in!”
The CFC needs a new striker this summer after taking the unconvincing form from Nicholas Jackson. Osimhen shows that he is one of the best in the business.
Things ended badly for Osimen in Naples before the surprise loan moved to Galatasaray, so he certainly wouldn’t stay in Naples even after the current loan deal was over.
There may be other striker targets that Chelsea should consider, but Osimhen appears to be the most obvious candidate right now.
