The Boston Celtics will be extremely happy after one of the summer league stars shows many promises.
The Boston Celtics enter the 2025-26 NBA season with many question marks. After Jason Tatum’s brutal Achilles injury put an end to championship hopes, the Celtics made many big moves.
Jalen Brown, along with the Celtics, will be very different next year, as he always wanted.
It has been revealed that the Celtics are not planning to compete for the title next season after trading Kristaps Porzingis for the Hawks.
But they may have hit gold in the offseason as Charles Bassey looks like a future Celtics center.
To make things even better, another Celtics summer league player ended his campaign with a strong performance that showed fans that he had serious NBA potential.
Isaiah Won has signed with the Boston Celtics of the NBA Summer League. The previous #55 pick from the 2023 NBA Draft has rarely played NBA basketball in recent years.
After a brief stint in Europe following his G-League exit, Wong felt like he did well in Las Vegas. His top priority was to try and get everyone else involved. And Wong thanked his teammate for doing the same thing.
“I feel like I did a good job. I come in and the minutes I got, I feel like I did a lot with them. Bring energy out of the bench and everyone tries to get involved.
“When I did that, it feels like they got me involved. I felt really good about the league this summer.”
At the moment, there is no word on whether the Boston Celtics will offer Wong a full-time contract. However, another NBA team was able to sign him after seeing an 18-point performance against the Atlanta Hawks.
Isaiah Wong was able to receive a two-way contract with the Boston Celtics next season. Given how hard the Celtics worked to win a pay cap apron, he could be a solid option to unbench.
Brad Stevens struggles with signing security guards. The Celtics were unable to regain former star Marcus Smart and lost him to rival La Lakers.
Additionally, the Celtics missed signing Damien Lillard, but with the same Achilles injury as Jason Tatum, he would have been out for the entire season.
Max Shulga, the Celtics’ second round pick, shows signs of promise. However, he cannot become one of the key security guards in their rotation.
Perhaps instead of landing the famous guard, the Celtics could opt for some two-way and minimal contract stars to fill those spots.
