Giannis Antetokounmpo’s performance is the only silver lining of the struggling Milwaukee Bucks.
The 2024-25 regular season was full of ups and downs for the Milwaukee Bucks. However, they still end up winning the fifth species at the Eastern Conference.
As a result, they locked the horns with the Indiana Pacers in the opening round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.
So far, it was hardly a contest as the Bucks were brutally assaulted in the first two games of the series. Despite overtaking the series 2-0, Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo is making historic playoff runs.
If there is a player who has some of the most insane records in NBA history, it is nothing more than Wilt Chamberlain.
During his day of play, Wilt was head and shoulders above the competition. That is, most of his record has not yet been touched on by any player.
However, according to X’s Real Sports, Antetokounmpo coincided with Chamberlain’s statistical line, which was last seen 58 years ago.
To be precise, in the first two playoff games against the Pacers, Giannis has 70 points, 30 rebounds and eight assists.
This was the statistical line that Chamberlain set up to launch the 1967 NBA playoffs.
At this point, Antetokounmpo is one of the few players who have spent their entire career in one franchise. In addition to that, Giannis also led the Bucks to the 2021 NBA Championship.
However, since winning the title, the Antetokounmpo and the Bucks have had little success in the postseason.
They are coming just after the exits of consecutive first rounds in the playoffs. And the Bucks are currently down 2-0, so they could face another opening round exit.
Things could get sour between the two sides if the Bucks can’t run a deep playoff this season, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.
It could ultimately lead to Antetokounmpo, which calls for Milwaukee trade after 12 years of service to the franchise.
