The NBA’s main points scorers so far this year were sidelined just before the Bucks’ NBA Cup fixtures on Tuesday.

The Bucks struggled this year without Giannis Antetocompo, but Milwaukee managed to move 3-0 in the NBA Cup without Starman on Tuesday night.

Giannis sat with his knees shaking against Miami, but the “Greek Freak” was a late decision to be on the bench.

“I’ll never know,” Rivers said before leading to the heat. “To be honest, it still speeds up the news for me.

“Listen, there are things like this, how he plays and how he works, and when they come, you just deal with them.”

Giannis has only missed one other game this season, but he faced the then undefeated Cavaliers, but the Bucks fell with just two points in a close contest.

The story without Antetokounmpo on Tuesday night was another story, but Milwaukee remained unbeaten in the NBA Cup after their third game, snapping Miami’s three-game unbeaten streak.

Damien Lillard scored all points with 37 points and 12 assists in a 37-point victory.

The Bucks’ near-positive record looked almost ineffective two weeks before starting the season with a disastrous 2-8 run, but Tuesday’s victory was the fifth straight win.

Giannis led the Bucks through a comeback earlier this season and is currently leading the NBA on all points, averaging 32.4 points per game.

He missed Tuesday, but Giannis is not expected to miss out on game time for now, and Bucks fans will also be encouraged by the news that Chris Middleton is reportedly approaching his season debut after summer uncle surgery.
