Ian Baker-Finch is retired after earning a nearly three-year career as a golf commentator following his professional playing day.
The announcement came on Tuesday in a statement posted on CBS Sports’ X account. Baker-Finch, 64, has spent the past 19 years on the broadcasting station.
As a player, the Australian is most recognized for his victory at the 1991 Open Championship at Royal Burkdale. Baker-Finch began his broadcasting career at ESPN in 1998 and joined CBS in 2007.
“After 19 years as a golf analyst at CBS Sports and 30 amazing 30 years of travel in the industry, I am announcing my retirement from broadcast,” Baker-Finch said in a statement. “Golf has been a big part of my life. I’ve been lucky enough to compete with the best players in the game and work with the best jobs on TV these days.
