Chelsea scouts are reportedly starting to show interest in Brazilian prodigy Felipe Morais, who has been compared to the legendary Kaka.
The talented 17-year-old attacking midfielder can play behind the striker or on either flank, and appeared to have caught the eye of big clubs at the Under-17 World Cup.
According to the Chelsea Chronicle, transfer expert Graham Bailey says Chelsea are one of the teams most interested in Morais.
What is being reported about Chelsea’s interest in Felipe Morais?
Bailey rates Mole very highly, revealing that Chelsea scouts were impressed after watching him play.
“One of the Brazilians that everyone loves is Felipe Morais. He’s a great player and a great technician,” Bailey said.
“Everything about him. He really stood out and attracted attention. It’s not like the club didn’t know about him, but he obviously just turned 17 in August.
“He’s a player who impressed at Chelsea. He was outstanding. The scout told me he was a really imposing Kaka-type player.”
CFC have prioritized signing top-class young players like this under their current ownership, so this could be another smart buy for the club’s long-term project.
Will Felipe Morais move to Chelsea’s Estebao Willian?
Morais looks like the latest big name to come out of Brazil and Chelsea fans will no doubt want to see him link up with homegrown Brazilian wonder kid Estebao Willian.
The 18-year-old winger joined the west London giants from Palmeiras in the summer and has made a bright start for Enzo Maresca’s side, contributing four goals and one assist so far.
Chelsea also have Andrei Santos as another potential candidate from South America, but it will be interesting to see if that player can appeal to Manager Moret when choosing his next club.
