Crystal Palace defender Mark Guech is reportedly the target of several top clubs in the UK. Guardianhe could remain at Selhurst Park next season and play the final year of his contract with the Eagles.
Newcastle tried to sign Guehi last summer, but was postponed at a price of £70 million. However, he is currently only 12 months left on his contract, with prices expected to fall. Liverpool also took part in a race for the service of England’s defenders, as well as Tottenham Hotspur.
While it’s obviously difficult to refuse a chance to join the Premier League champions, the centre-back, who turns 25 next month, wants regular game time in the season before the World Cup. Even if Jarrell Quanza leaves as he sees at this point, that’s hardly certain in Liverpool given the presence of Virgil van Dick and Ibrahima Conate. This is where the Spurs could see the chance, especially if they’re selling Atletico Madrid’s target, Christian Romero.
The Palace will want to avoid losing Gehi for free next summer, but for the time being, the scenario remains a concrete possibility.
