Guerschon Yabusele He received the breakout campaign with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2024-25 season. Now he’s heading for the New York Knicks. He appears to be a major contributor there.

After five years away from the NBA, Guerschon Yabusele took advantage of the strong performance of the 2024 Parisiolmín Games in France. He returned to the NBA and signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.

He became one of the best players in the 76ers, so it was a great decision for Jabsere. He would have wanted to go back and continue playing for the 76ers after his one-year contract expired. Unfortunately, Philadelphia did not give him the offer he wanted, so he explored other opportunities.

He loved the opportunity when the New York Knicks knocked and offered a two-year deal worth $12 million. Now he is ready to prove the suspect wrong and solidify himself in the Knicks spinning.

Yabusele was enough to win a massive contract extension. That didn’t mean he would sign a deal worth more than $200 million, but he wanted more than the minimum salary. Now he has found a deal with the Knicks. This is worth around $12 million.

The Frenchman has a second year player option in New York. If he continues to be impressed, a bigger deal may come in the future. This was a savvy move as he found his way into a team that could compete for the championship.

It was a shame that Philadelphia didn’t extend his good deal. He was enough to be one of their best players last season. However, Yabsle plays with his bully’s ball style and relentless motor in New York.

“I was thinking to myself, ‘Oh my god, I could go back’.’ I really didn’t want to leave.

“I had no difficult feelings or hardships, but they hardly did it like an offer. They did, but it was really, really low to be really transparent.”

“So I felt, ‘Oh my god, guys, it seems you’re not trying to keep up with me.’ That was a situation. ”

After signing with the Knicks, pressure is high for Yabucere. He plays some heavy minutes in the 2025-26 season and serves as a backup for their star players. The town of Karl Anthony will be pleased that they have an underrated player with him.

Yabusele proved that he can become a major contributor with his hardworking style. Such a role is important for the Knicks because someone is physical and needs someone to overwhelm their opponents. He did it with the French national team and the 76ers, so he is expected to do the same for the Knicks.

Guerschon Yabusele talks about his decision to join Knicks.

“It feels like their team really played hard to fight my DNA… I think with their system, I can really help.”

The Knicks are in good places with Jalen Brunson becoming the star and Mike Brown at the helm. They are working on improving the roster with signatures like Yabusele, and they take a lot of steps forward.

The Knicks are one of the top candidates for the Eastern Conference. They are fresh from the Eastern Conference Finals and want to keep that momentum going. With the same core and new head coach, they work hard to get the best possible results.
