IVINS, Utah – Harlan Liu made an 8-foot Eagle putt on the perfect back nine and was able to pull away on Sunday at 8-under 64 at the age of 64, bringing a five-shot victory on Utah’s return after 61 years of absence on the LPGA Tour.
Ryu became the second player to go wire-to-wire on this year’s LPGA Tour and won the new event for the second time. She won the FM Championship at TPC Boston last year.
She won a rough finish at last week’s Chevron Championship and shared a 54-hole lead in the first major of the year before closing at 76.
This was closer to the five-shot margin shown. Ryu was clung to the one-shot lead of German Estelle Henserite, who went to the back nine. She missed a 6-foot birdie putt on the 10th – a third straight miss from a short distance for birdie.
But then she made a 15-foot birdie putt on the 11th and advanced with four Eagle on the 13th.

“An incredible day,” Ryu said.
Henslate, who started behind three shots, went out at 31 within one shot. She chilled on the back nine and didn’t make another birdie until the 18th hole of 66.
“We got off to a great start with the Front Nine, but then we couldn’t keep up with our back,” Henslate said. “Harlan was amazing and he really deserved to win today.”
Yin-Yang returned to the mix at 62 on Saturday, and was four shots behind on the turn. She ran through four straight birdies from the 11th, all within 8 feet. The last one won her within three shots of Ryu.
The Korean responded by approaching 3 feet on the 15th to help Birdie recover the lead to four shots, and retreated on the 16th with a double bogey from the bunker.
“I play 70 good holes,” Yin said. “I made a triple on the first day and then I made a double with a 16 today. But overall, I think my game is really solid.”
Yan Liu closed at 65 and finished alone in fourth.
Australia’s Stephanie Kyriaku finished with a shot, a fairway metal in Pal 5 18th place, rolling in for Albatross, taking 67 to sixth place.
Ryu is the 10th winner of the 10th LPGA Tour this season.
