The remembered Kim on Saturday and replaced the injured Tommy Edman. Los Angeles put Edman on the list of 10 days of injury with inflammation in his right ankle.
Initially, Kim was expected to be sent back to the minor leagues after Edman returned. However, his performance so far could have won him a long MLB stint.
Roberts said the organization is considering keeping Kim in MLB.
“I definitely think about that,” Roberts said. “I think there’s always a dynamic that, along with Heisen and the younger players, that will help in the short term, in the long term, and certainly his skill set will help in that.”
Ultimately, the need to decide if it’s wiser to allow Kim to develop in the minor leagues before making him a full-time big leaguer.
“But then, in the long run, I’ll give him the opportunity repeatedly, give him the opportunity (minors), to defend, to adapt to American baseball,” Roberts said. What kind of internet do you most positively present? And that’s kind of a debate. ”
In Triple A, Kim cut .252/.328/.470, hitting five home runs and 19 RBIs. He also had the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of positions, including shortstop, second base and center field.
