Leon Haslam fell back to fifth in the sprint that began on Sunday after finishing the opening British Superbikes race in Snetterton fourth.
Moto Rapido Ducati Rider has not come close to the podium spot battle in either race, despite showing that the bike and racecraft had two podiums, including victory in the opening round at Alton Park.
Construction #91 over the weekend saw all that change in the final race and was trapped in a battle with Tommy Bridewell and Rory Skinner.
Haslam explained which part of the bike is causing him problems after Race 3, saying:
“We’ve been struggling since our first lap this weekend, and it’s the first time we’ve run a Ducati with a bit of throttle connection, a bit of a chassis, and these temperatures.
Over a second of the rest of the best, you know, the fourth and fifth were quite a long way from the podium. Yes, we climbed a big mountain for that final race. ”
His former racing father, Ron Haslam, was also on hand, and the third and final 16th lap in Norfolk saw Haslam be completed for the podium.
“Wilff and the boys came up with merchandise and the throttle connections were back to where I knew they were, and I was a bit blind, so there was a fake neutral that dropped me in that race, but they gave me great credit to the team.
Haslam was looking forward to returning to Ducati in the next round of Knockhill, using BMW machines in recent years and Kawasaki before the BSB, adding:
“I have had some good results in the past, and I’ve been with Ducati for years, so I’m really excited to get a Ducati.
Clearly Rory will be stronger – Home Race – but with our fingers crossed, we’ll learn a lot this weekend and hopefully we can get it into Knock Hill. ”
