According to Football Insider, Manchester United is reportedly leading the race to sign Ipswichtown striker Liam Dellup.
The 22-year-old forward has scored 12 goals after an impressive season and has attracted a lot of attention, providing two assists in 32 Premier League appearances despite Ipswich’s struggle near the bottom of the table.
A key factor in United’s pursuit is manager Reuben Amorim’s promise to provide regular first-team football.
Former United Chief Scout Mic Brown stressed that guaranteeing Amorim’s starting roll could be crucial in persuading Dellup to choose Old Trafford over other suitors.
“Delap is on the list of many clubs.” Brown told Soccer Insider.
“I don’t know if he’ll be satisfied with the move to Chelsea.
“There was a lot of talk about him at Man United, and if you’re delapping, you can see that United team and be sure you can make your mark there.
“The options they have at the moment aren’t enough, so Amorim can promise he’ll get regular minutes as their starting striker.
“I don’t think he can do the same at Chelsea, Newcastle or any other topside.
“They signed a lot of players who can’t join the team or don’t play well. Delap doesn’t want to be one of them.
“He needs to go somewhere with the intention of playing and he knows he’s going to play for United.”

Delap’s contract includes a release clause set to reduce to £40 million if Ipswich is kicked out.
The clause has increased interest from top clubs, and Chelsea is also enthusiastic about young strikers.
Delap is said to prioritize joining clubs offering European football, aiming to increase their chances of creating an England team at the 2026 World Cup.
United’s current league position is outside of European qualifying spots, but winning the Europa League will help ensure their position in the Continental tournament next season.
