Derrick White believes his Boston Celtics teammates are always in the right place on the floor.
The Boston Celtics are one step closer to reaching 60 winmark for the 2024-25 NBA season after an astounding victory over Washington’s Wizard.
Once the season reached its conclusion, the Celtics slowly but surely reminded the fans of whether they were the NBA defending champions.
The main reason behind the push in the second half of the season is the contributions of the supporting cast. Speaking of which, team veteran Derrick White praised one bench player during the post-match meeting.
29-year-old center Luke Corne is currently playing in the eighth season of his NBA career. During his career, Cornett played for five NBA teams, but he plays best for the Celtics.
That being said, Veteran Center averages only 5.8 points per game in C, but White doesn’t think it’s going to justify Cornett’s contribution by looking at the box’s score.
“He’s incredible, he just seems to be in the right place all the time. He makes the game easier for everyone.
“If there’s a mistake, if you know Biglook is there, you’ll probably reach for it and something will happen. He’s incredible for us all year round and I’m happy with him.”
White’s comments responded to how Cornett improved as a rebounder this season. After all, Kornet got 14 rebounds and 16 rebounds against the Wizard a few nights ago against the San Antonio Spurs.
Everything seems to be going well for the Celtics this season. On the one hand, veterans have established a key role. On top of that, the Celtics have some great rookies who make their own names.
That was evident in White’s post-match comments about Baylor Schierman.
“He knows how to play… those flashy passes and everything he does is cool, but I think he’s doing a lot of little things for us who are helping us win the game.
The Celtics are now the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 58-12 record as they get closer to seeing the defending champions take action in the playoffs.
