Leeds United are approaching the capture of RC Strasbourg’s central midfielder, Habib Diara.
According to a team football report, the midfielder’s departure is imminent and he will be joining Leeds United this summer.
Habib Diarra did well for Strasbourg
Diara is a key player in the French outfit and there is no doubt that he has the physical and technical attributes to make it work in the Premier League with Leeds.
The newly promoted Premier League clubs will need to improve their team this summer, and players like Diara could prove to be good for them.
Leeds needs midfield depth
They need more physicality and control in the middle of the park. The Strasbourg midfielders could prove to be a great acquisition for them. The opportunity to play in the Premier League is extremely exciting for players and he aims to make his mark on next year’s top flight.
The player was linked to Everton last year. Premier League Giants Chelsea also kept him the tab.
Leeds is a big club and it can be difficult to refuse opportunities to play for them. The 21-year-old Senegale midfielder had four goals and five assists to his name in the French league last season, allowing him to add a new dimension to Leeds’ midfield.
It will be interesting to see if they can improve other areas of their team and do well in next year’s Premier League. They’ve seen how the teams promoted in the Premier League last season struggled. They wouldn’t want to go back to the championship.
Leeds hopes to establish himself as a regular in the Premier League and will need to bring in the right players during the summer window. Meanwhile, the French outfit is already considering a potential replacement for Diara. They identified Royal Antwerp defensive midfielder Mahamadoo Dumbia as their target. The players are expected to cost 10 million euros.
