The Houston Rockets officially made Kevin Durant’s trade after being expanded to include seven teams.
At the end of June, the Houston Rockets agreed to trade with the Phoenix Suns and Kevin Durant.
Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks were sent another way to Phoenix along with the No. 10 pick of the NBA draft, which will be used to select Khaman Maluach.
However, as trade alone became official on July 6th, there was time for Houston and Phoenix to expand their trade.
The NBA’s first-ever seven-team deal has officially been agreed to one already around the league, including deals that will affect the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Net, Golden State Warriors, La Lakers and the Minnesota Timber Wolves.
Houston Rockets general manager Rafael Stone provided some kind words to the two players who gave up on a contract to get Durant.
Speaking about Jalen Green, he told NBA.com:
“Jalen’s kindness and commitment to his teammates, coaches and staff from the court was an important part of our culture.”
Green’s move has been a big topic in the league, and Paul George is encouraging him to make the most of his new start.
Stone added to Dillon Brooks: “Dillon’s impact has been important to the team’s growth over the past two seasons, and every day we asked him to lead him to an example with his toughness and intensity.
“Both Jalen and Dillon are loved throughout our organization. We are extremely grateful for their contributions in the courts and in the community and hope for the best they can be.”
Rival star Draymond Greene recently discussed Brooks’ trade and said in his opinion it wasn’t just for financial reasons, but for basketball fit.
Houston Rockets coach Ime Udoka has just signed a new contract extension and paid tribute to the team’s newest superstar, Kevin Durant.
Udoka said: “I played Kevin and coached him before, so I know he’s the type of competitor that fits what we’ve been building here in Houston.
“His skill level, love for basketball and his dedication to crafts have made him one of the most respected players of his generation. My staff and I are excited to work with him.”
