The Houston Rockets fired in Game 5 of the first round series vs. Golden State Warriors. They had risen to 76-49 at halftime by the end of the first quarter, ages 40-24.

Golden State tried to make a comeback, but Houston’s lead was too big to overcome. On Wednesday, the Rockets stopped elimination with a 131-116 victory and the Warriors. Rockets center Alperencengun received 15 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Sengun is the first player in NBA history, averaging 20/10/5 in his first five career playoff games.

On Wednesday, the Rockets scored a much-needed victory and the Warriors. The loss would have ended their season. This was an offensive, well-balanced team effort from Houston in Game 5. The three players scored at least 24+ points. That includes Fred Vanbeat, Dillon Brooks and Amen Thompson. It was Alperen Sennun who led the Rockets in rebounds and assists on Wednesday. He finished the game with 15 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.

In the 2025 playoffs, Sengun averaged 20.8 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He is the first player in NBA history, averaging 20/10/5 in his first five career playoff games. Alperen Sengun is a special talent for Rockets. He’s like Nikola Djokic, but not dominant. However, Sengun is only 22 years old, making it his fourth season. There is still plenty of room for him to grow.

In a Game 4 loss last Monday, Senn scored a playoff career-high 31 points. The previous first round pick was selected as an All-Star for the first time in his career during the 2024-25 regular season. He is a player who does it all for the Rocket, and they rely on his production every night. Houston is on his way to play the Warriors in Game 6. They’re down 3-2 in the series. Can the Rockets win on Friday and force Game 7 in Houston on Sunday?
