Jalen Rose gives David Adelman a brutal reality check on his strategy with the Denver Nuggets.
The Denver Nuggets have entered a new era. It was during the days when David Adelman replaced Michael Malone as the team’s head coach.
The Nuggets are currently tied 2-2 with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round, but the Denver player has already fallen into gas.
Former NBA player analyst Jalen Rose has theories about the reasons behind it and how it’s because of Coach Adelman.
Being a rookie head coach who manages the Nuggets caliber team is not a small deal. But so far Adelman seems to be doing a good job.
After all, he’s already making history for the NBA, but as Rose pointed out within the NBA, there’s one thing he’s wrong.
“It’s another thing I really don’t like about what I’m seeing from Denver. There’s one thing to shorten the rotation, but you can only play six people,” Rose said.
“That’s very rude to the rest of the people on the roster, you’re basically telling them they can’t play, so you don’t trust them.
NBA teams often run shorter rotations, but Nuggets players were extremely tired compared to their Game 4 opponents.
With that in mind, Rose’s points can be in the right position, and it is possible that bench players may feel offended by the lack of trust in the coach, despite being in the backfoot against the number one seed in the meeting.
The most visible effect of performing shorter rotations can be seen in superstar Nikola Jokic. The Joker is often the best player on the Nuggets court.
However, the Serbian superstar barely posts the right numbers in the series. Plus, he’s been shooting badly throughout the postseason.
NBA analyst Charles Barkley recently went to the Nuggets due to Jokic’s situation.
“Denver has never worked on the backup center situation or the bench…I don’t think it’s fair to blame the Joker all, but he’s not playing well and I think he’s worn out,” Chuck said.
Barkley also noted that its lack of a quality backup center also put the Nuggets at a disadvantage against the Minnesota Timberwolves last season.
For now, the Nuggets could not learn from their mistakes. Even if the franchise manages to beat the lightning, it’s not surprising that they’ll be eliminated soon in the next round.
