Caio Borralho saw many mistakes in Khamzat Chimaev’s dominant decision victory over Doricus du Plessis at UFC 319.
“Borz” controlled Du Plessis for over 21 minutes with his five-round title Tilt, securing his 15th career victory and becoming the newly-built middleweight world champion for the UFC.
Chimaev’s performance was hailed as one of the most impressive UFC title fight history, but Boraljo couldn’t help but see many mistakes on the part of Duplesis.
“In the first takedown of the battle, he tried to do the guillotine, but there was no timing guillotine. How do you hold someone who wants to hold you? So there were many other mistakes besides the cross.”
“Before going to the cross, he was on guard and didn’t know how to hold the guard. Just as Chimeh did a normal guard pass like the White Belt Guard Pass, he didn’t know how (Duplessis) would do his guard hold. He works hard to shoot the takedown.”
Caio Borralho is already lined up for shots at the UFC’s latest champion, among other things
Du Plessis and his coach have already vowed to return to the drawings and for an even stronger rematch. Unfortunately, the South African sense may be waiting for a while.
On September 6th, Bolarjo returns to the octagon for a potential title eliminator against Imabov of Nassoldeen, the division’s top-ranked competitor.
In addition to the recently announced clash between Reinier de Ridder and Anthony Hernandez at UFC Vancouver, it was able to produce Chimaev’s first official challenger.
