After six years of competing under the UFC banner, Ariane Lipski Da Silva is looking for a new employer.
According to X’s Borrachinha Depot, Da Silva has been removed from the promotion’s active roster following his third straight loss in the octagon at UFC 316 in New Jersey. So Da Silva went to the toe with China’s outstanding Kong Wang and eventually surrendered the unanimous decision, moving her overall record to a 6-8 inactive one with the UFC.
After a rocky start to her UFC journey, Da Silva finally found her footing in 2023, earning three victories at JJ Aldrich, Melissa Gutt and Casey O’Neill. Unfortunately, her success was short-lived. The Queen of Violence began to lose the following three to Carine Silva, Jasmine Jasdavitius and the aforementioned Kong One.
Before he began his tenure at the UFC in 2019, Da Silva was the Poland-based flyweight champion of KSW. She went 5-0 in the promotion and defended the title twice against Mariana Morais and Silvana Gomez Juarez before signing the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Ariane Lipski da Silva was overweight of 6 pounds for her UFC 316 Clash With Cong Wang
The loss at UFC 316 may have been all justification of the promotion needed to release Da Silva, but her weight loss was no less than a whopping 6 pounds.
However, her coach, Renato da Silva, revealed that during training, da Silva discovered a “small benign tumor in the pituitary gland” and revealed what went wrong. They tried to get help from the nutritionist, but eventually received “bad advice” that prevented her from stabilizing her due to a weight cut.
“We wanted to lower the levels of cortisol, so it didn’t affect her health,” her coach said. “We wanted to create as much stress as possible in her body by controlling her cortisol levels. And the nutritionist chose a strategy to keep her weight as much as possible until the very end. It was too much on the last day. He didn’t know her the same as me.
“She wasn’t feeling well this morning. I knew her body. There was still something left to cut, but her reaction wasn’t normal. She wasn’t walking correctly.
Overall, Da Silva is 17-11 in his martial arts career.
