When Arsenal thought their injuries were about to ease this season, the gunners were dealt a major potential blow before the crunch clash with Real Madrid next week.
Defender Gabriel retreated early during his Premier League victory at Fulham. This saw the welcome from Bukayosaka’s bench, which won the Arsenal winner.
Many point this to Arsenal’s upset title bid as injuries and stops have been bitten all season for the North Londoners.

When will Liverpool win a Premier League title?
It’s certainly only a matter of time for Liverpool’s best moments.
But how bad was that really bad for Mikel Arteta’s part? Also, how do their injuries compare to their top flight rivals? I calculated the numbers I understand.
In this list, we covered three major areas with the help of TransferMarkt data.
- Injured player – Number of different first-team players not available during the 2024/25 Premier League season
- Number of injuries – Number of separate periods missed by injuries across the senior squad
- The game I missed – The current campaign does not allow cumulative matches for the first team player
Note: After finishing play on April 1, 2025, all statistics are correct.

Arsenal
Arsenal
32 injuries and 139 games missed
There’s no way to escape the fact that Arsenal had a terrifying season in terms of fitting key players. And statistics suggest they’ve gotten worse than many of their Premier League rivals.
Mikel Arteta has had to deal with long-term absentees like Ben White and Bukayo Saka this season. Meanwhile, Kai Herberts, Gabriel Jesus and Tumeiro Tomiyas are all out for a foreseeable future.
While only three clubs can claim to have been injured more than Arsenal’s 32 throughout the campaign, Gunner ranks in the top five in each of the major injuries metrics we’ve seen, pointing to a large number of injuries as well as the length of layoffs.
At the time of writing, Arsenal’s first team player has missed 139 Premier League matches in conjunction, which is certainly set to rise after Gabriel’s worried injury mid-week.

34 injuries and 114 games missed.
Aston Villa suffers more injuries than Arsenal. This might explain how, despite its dazzling Champions League campaign, it wasn’t as impressive in the league this year.
But the big picture is a bit brighter for the Villa, in the sense that some of the people involved, such as Diego Carlos and Jaden Filigen, are no longer at the club.
Most Premier League clubs this season have seen more different players enter the treatment room, so it can be argued that Villa has just come down in the injury department this year.

27 injuries, 194 games missed
The Brentford player missed the most Premier League game with injuries this season, mainly due to the lack of access to a few players throughout the campaign.
Aaron Hickey, Josh Dasilva and Gustavo Nunez were unable to make a single league appearance, but summer signing Igor Thiago managed only a short comeback from injury before getting stuck again.
The bees’ defenses have beenar the brunt of their medical problems, with Rico Henry among the major absentees, with Christopher Agere and Ethan Pinnock both taking a long time.

Brighton & Hove Albion
34 injuries and 173 missed games
Brighton has been injured by the most players this season, along with the Spurs (21).
The Seagulls are considerably better than the league’s Anjipost Ecogul side, and despite the problems they have hopes for a European finish.
Most of them came from things like James Milner, Tarik Rampty and Summer, and signed Ferdi Cadiogle, but Solly March still doesn’t manage a series of games under Fabian Hazeler.
The current total of 173 league matches missed by injuries are second in the Premier League behind Brentford.

Chelsea
29 games and 126 games missed
Given the size of Chelsea’s team, it’s inevitable that injuries will become a recurring problem. Indeed, it can be said that only four top flight clubs have worsened to deal with 29 separate injuries.
At the Blues, we’ve seen a first-team of 20 people enter the treatment room for this period. Reese James was one of the frequent visitors, along with Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana, Noni Madueke and Nicholas Jackson.
While a significant number of players with no experience in the first team are also struggling to stay healthy (such as Aaron Anselmino and Omari Kellyman), the severity of player Enzo Maresca’s injuries often point to why the West Londoner title challenge disappeared quite rapidly.

Crystal Palace has done pretty well on the front line of injuries this season. This certainly means Oliver Grasner counts his blessings, given the slow start of the Eagles campaign.
Cheick Doucure and Matheus Franca were one of the Chief absentees throughout this term, but overall, the Palace has only been injured by 10 players since August.
In fact, the long layoffs of the teams are bars, and Palace has one of the best teams in the league.

Given their struggles in recent years, it was essential for Everton to keep players fit to give them the best chance of survival this season.
And while they have an unbiased share (eight players missed more than seven consecutive games), Toffee has compared fairly well with Premier League rivals, with injuries not spreading accurately across the team.
Premier League clubs have averaged 23.4 injuries so far this year, making Everton’s 20 tallies proven manageable, particularly following David Moyes’ return to Merseyside.

Fulham could have argued that it was one of the most consistent aspects of the Premier League this semester. And it can be argued that a large portion of their team almost certainly plays a key role.
The Cottage has been blessed with gods of injuries this year, losing just 71 games this semester after 30 games played.
And while it produces a large portion of this when you consider them currently suffering three long-term injuries, Marco Silva’s fitness team must be doing the right thing.

The town of Ipswich was always going to stand up to it as long as it was happening this year. The tractor boy hasn’t fallen yet, but he may have had a bit more luck on the front line of injuries up until now.
Ipswich now has a few first teams of people who may not return before the end of the campaign, but the number of injuries they’ve had so far has been pretty average compared to their rivals.
With the majority of these players being the majority of attackers, it can be argued that injuries were involved in their lack of efficacy this year, but statistics suggest that they have descended relatively lightly.

Liverpool
21 injuries, 78 games missed
Do Liverpool’s rivals say the Reds have surpassed a significant portion of their luck when it comes to injuries? probably.
Compared to other regions in the Premier League, Liverpool had an average number of injured players up to this season – 15. However, in terms of the length and severity of these injuries, they are often short-term and avoid being unavailable by players of the same position at the same time.
Joe Gomez, for example, was ruled out for the rest of the season, just as he did when Ibrahima Conate returned from injury, but Cody Gappo’s recent trouble has returned to Diogo Jota’s folding.
Of course, winning a Premier League title is more walking than not being injured, but there’s no doubt that Liverpool made the most of their rivals’ suffering.

Newcastle United have put out a lot of players at some point this season. This is pretty impressive given the recent success of the Cup and the strong challenges of the upcoming Champions League football.
The injured players are the fourth-highest total in the league, but the number of games missed is pretty average, referring to a mix of long-term absences and short recovery times.
The team is currently in a pretty decent form, and defense is the only sight to be concerned about, especially in light of Lewis Hall’s recent layoffs.

Wolves
16 injuries, 140 games missed
The wolves are definitely an abnormality on the top flight side. Vitor Pereira’s outfit has seen a fairly average injury trouble this year, but the number of games missed is the highest in the division.
The main reason is the number of long-term absentees in the senior squad. Sasa Kalajdzic has been pretty unlucky about fitness since arriving at Molineux, but Boubacar Traore and Yerson Mosquera were also on for a long time.
So, although injuries were generally not an old gold issue, when bitten, it was pretty serious.
