All of the Football Fancustos are devastated by the tragic passages of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva. We send thoughts and prayers to their friends, family, teammates and loved ones.
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot proved everyone wrong when he successfully traded Jurgen Klopp at Anfield a year ago and led the Reds to a Premier League title.
The 2025/26 campaign, both as a club and city, presents all new challenges to Liverpool, lamenting the tragic passage of Dio Gojota and his brother Andre Silva, but Anfield has proven his ability to reunit and accept fan base support and vice versa.
Sports Director Richard Hughes is currently facing an imminent approach from Barcelona.
However, La Blaugrana has not been blocked, and efforts have doubled as the winger missed top target Nico Williams after signing a new contract with Athletic Bilbao, and Diaz moved towards Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
As Diaz spent much of his recent campaign filled with Liverpool’s central striker, he calls for a new centre forward, as his sales have been a red priority for months.
Especially in the process of signing Naples with Darwin Nunes.
Latest news on Naples from Darwin Nunes
Nunez joined Liverpool in 2022 and arrived from SL Benfica in a transaction billed as a club record of £85 million. However, the Uruguiron struggle in the UK has led to a series of clauses hanging, bringing the actual fee to £71 million.
He has obvious qualities. Nunes is tenacious, heretic, and sometimes surprisingly ambitious in the final third. However, the 25-year-old has only scored 25 Premier League goals in three terms, with just seven goals appearing under the wings of the slots in all competitions last season.
Additionally, Slot said in early 2025 that he “can’t accept” Uruguay’s working rate, usually a staple, after a series of disappointing looks.
Thus, Napoli projected confidence when they were bored to make their moves, but negotiations have since left a gap between the evaluations of strikers at each club.
The fees have not yet been agreed, but if this happens, Nunez will also have praisers in the Saudi Pro League – a replacement will be needed.
Liverpool races for new centre forwards
Liverpool and Manchester United have registered interest in Almeria’s striker Luis Suarez this summer, according to Portugal’s Outlet A Bola.
This is not the famous old Suarez, but the 27-year-old Colombian of his same name, and is on sale for 25 million euros (£221 million) after a prolific campaign in Spain’s second part.
The former Watford prospects are also featured on the Lisbon transfer list. They are preparing to sell Victor Gyoker to Arsenal. For this reason, the two La Liga Portugal row champions are felt to gain an advantage in the race as things stand.
Why Liverpool wants Luis Suarez
Suarez is not the youngest in the block, but he certainly shows that he scored 41 goals and offered 13 assists on Almeria’s 79 fixtures.
And there was a considerable stage in the Segunda Division in the previous period. In fact, Suarez scored 31 goals in 43 matches in all competitions despite 27 goals arriving in Spain’s second tier.
That being said, Suarez’s Copa del Rey hat-trick over Sevilla highlighted his natural prolific work.
His integrity and physicality can even prove he is a Gyoker version of Liverpool’s own.
Gyokeres is one of Europe’s most dangerous goals scorers, scoring 97 goals in 102 matches in the sport over two years. His physicality and powerful performance are rare attributes and apply, but Liverpool can sign someone similar to the Almeria frontman.
Sports has identified Colombians as the perfect alternative, after all, Gyoker is also 27 years old.
Suarez has similarities. He’s prolific, but he’s also a true machine when it comes to ball strikes. As can be seen below, Suarez was one of the most relentless archers in the trade, gaining more targets than Mohamed Salah, behind only Gyoker and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe.
Suarez ran the 2024/25 campaign in the Spanish Segunda division, but he was an experienced, oiled player whose scores were well received by the Almeria side, who finished his term with the highest goal tally in the division (72).
Suarez is not at Gyokeres’ level, of course, but Liverpool was able to bolster their ranks this summer with clever attack options.

As can be seen from the matching statistics above, Suarez’s duel success, partnering with his dribbling ability and natural creativity, provides him with dynamism and roundness that matches the skill set of Swedish striker Gyoker.
The hunt for players in the position of Hugo Ekitike or Victor Osimhen continues, but if you enrich the ranks with Liverpool and this clever signature, you will notice that the slots are paying back prices on the pitch.
