Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has revealed he intends to remain at the north London club until his contract expires.
A move from Arsenal is considered a possibility, but the player does not seem to have any intention of leaving. He is waiting to see if Arsenal will offer him a new contract. The striker has currently been sidelined with a knee injury since January, but is aiming to make a quick return and re-establish himself as a key player in the team.
Gabriel Jesus talks about Arsenal’s future
“The[Arsenal]manager and the board have told me every day that they are keen to have me back,” he told ESPN.
“I don’t think I’m out of the club’s plans. I have a contract until 2027 and if it’s not renewed by then, I’ll be at the club at least until 2027.”
Jesus has links with Brazilian clubs. It will be interesting to see if the Brazilian club is willing to offer him a contract after the season ends.
He said that there was a strong possibility that he would leave the club during the summer transfer window. It seems unlikely that Arsenal will let him leave in January. They are chasing the league title and the UEFA Champions League. They don’t want to weaken the team midway through the season.
Yes could be a useful option for them later in the campaign.
Palmeiras yearns for Jesus
Meanwhile, Palmeiras’ name has been mentioned as a possible transfer destination, with Jesús hinting that he may be interested in joining Palmeiras in the future. However, he has no intention of leaving the Premier League just yet. It remains to be seen whether he can convince Mikel Arteta to give him more chances in the coming months.
If he fails to secure a starting place at Arsenal, he could be under pressure to consider leaving. He would not want to sit on the bench at a London club at this stage of his career. Arsenal have already signed a quality striker in Victor Gokeres, and it would be reasonable to assume that the Sweden international could be the club’s first-choice striker at this point. It remains to be seen how the Jesus situation will develop in the coming months.
