The La Lakers secured a spectacular 134-127 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies in a key matchup that could determine the rankings for the Western Conference.
Austin Reeves led the scorer with 31 points, contributing with seven rebounds and eight assists in the evening.
LeBron James and Luka Donsic have recently attracted criticism. He also combined 54 points and 17 assists to help the team get a key victory over the Grizzlies.
The LA Lakers ended the first quarter with an 11-point lead, but Grizzlies had to return to the game by the second half and do the right thing to seal their victory on the road.
Reeves, who was fantastic all season for the Lakers, had another big night, but he gave the Lakers star duo flowers due to his recent shape.
The 26-year-old said the presence of James and Luka Donsic would make things “easy” for him.
The Reaves averaged 26.9 ppg and shot an efficient 53.4% off the field in his last 10 games.
Speaking about the duo at a postgame press conference, Reaves said:
“Self-interested players, they like to play the game the right way, and both incredible passersby, so you try to get just all your possessions.
“I feel like all of my possessions will get a good shot if I keep them locked in doing so.”
James, Don Sic and the Raves combine 85 of the Lakers’ 134 points.
The match against the Memphis Grizzlies was a must-see for the Lakers as it could have a significant impact on the rankings if two teams finish with similar records.
Purple and Gold have also formed rivalry against the Grizzlies over the past few seasons. So, the matchup between the two teams is always fiery.
At one of the game’s timeouts, James began to express himself a little more loudly.
“The first time I heard him scream for a while, it was refreshing to be honest, I loved it.
“I don’t remember what he said, it shows how much he cares.
“His attention to detail is probably the norm, and if we all lock you in all of that possessions, you can create something special,” Reaves said.
