Crystal Palace is reportedly eager to win the race this summer for Sunderland Wonder Kid Chris Rig’s transfer.
The Eagles are the latest in a long list of Premier League clubs linked to the rig, widely considered one of the nation’s biggest prospects.
Only 17 years old, Rigg has already won 65 first-team appearances for Sunderland and has a total of seven goals for his name in the Black Cat.
Reports say the palace is currently leading the rig accusations ahead of this summer, with Londoners viewing him as the potential next Michael Ollise.
Will Crystal Palace win a transfer battle for the new Michael Orlize?
The palace obviously worked well at snapping Ollies in his youth. The French winger became their star player before being sold to Bayern Munich for great profits.
Rigg could have similar potential, and England Youth International is certainly heading for a big career at the highest level.
Still, it may soon be that Rigg will move to one of the larger Premier League clubs he has linked to.
Manchester United is a huge fan of Rigg and Tottenham was previously said to be one of his admirers, but he certainly had more playing time and a better chance to develop at stepping stone clubs like Palace first.
It will be interesting to see how this saga unfolds in weeks and months, but Sunderland will also decide not to go through the rig.
But that may be tricky, but some may argue that even Rigg can do better to stay in the stadium of light a little more to continue his development.
