Ian Garry may be a bit Dork, but when the UFC makes a call, he always takes the call.
Earlier this week, Dana White made a series of blockbuster announcements, including the return of Garry, who found the headline headline for promotion to Kansas City on Saturday, April 26th.
For the first time in his career, Garry aims to bounce back from loss after making a unanimous decision to Shabkat Raccomov at UFC 310 in December.
To put it simply, Garry has emerged as an interesting character in recent years. In addition to being a permanent copycat of Irish megastar Conor McGregor, Garry has a relentlessly trashed athlete on social media, reportedly rubbing people the wrong way with his pocket attitude at the gym.
Former welterweight champion Leon Edwards has actually been kicked out of Team Renegade, the gym he calls home.
Ian Garry may be “dork,” but he supports his words
Taking on Garry’s actions both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, former three-time UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen, who was called the “future,” praised his position with his words, with the words of fighting anyone, anytime, anywhere.
“Ian Garry is a bit gross, but is there anything else you want from a fighter? He’ll fight someone, Sonnen said on his YouTube channel. The last person a fighter wants to face is someone who knows in your mind that they are better than they are perceived to be. That’s exactly Carlos. Ian Garry said yes right away.”
Ian Garry has proven that he has no Dork or Dork or that Dork is a horrifying force within the octagon. Before the loss to Rakmonov, “Future” was a perfect 15-0 in MMA, with a notable victory for Neil Manny, Jeff Neil and Michael “Venom” pages.
Will Garry go back to the Heart of America victory column or will the Carlos Award continue his impressive rise and take on his biggest victory yet?
