Paul Felder hopes Ian Machado Garry will receive priority treatment from the UFC once again stepping up in a short time.
Machado Garry (15-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) faced the Carlos Award (21-6 MMA, 4-0 UFC) at the UFC in the ESPN 66 main event at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The main event came together in a short period of time between the original headliner between Jamahar Hill and Kalille Rontore.
Machado Garry had not booked the fight, but before Neal retreated on April 12, Pleats was already in Jeff Neal’s camp at UFC 314. This marks the second straight time after Garry faces off the UFC of ESPN 63 headliner vs Joaquin Buckley to face Shavkat Rakhmonov in the 5-round title eliminator at UFC 310.
“I need to scream at Ian Machado Garry for getting back on top of the top candidates. He’s just been on the roll since joining the UFC against a very dangerous opponent like Carlos Plates. “But Ian Garry knows these are the moments you have to take advantage of.
“These are moments that the UFC will benefit you later in your career and try to help you push you to the top. You hurt their backs and they hurt yours. I love it.
Pleats has torn his opposition in the UFC so far, earning night bonus performances in all four knockout wins.
