Ian Machado Garry has a three-point plan, starting with Carlos Prates passing his first defeat on all Saturday nights.
Stepping into the main event spotlight at UFC Kansas City, Garry aims to bounce back from his first career defeat when he meets a burgeoning fighting nerd with a collision that could have the impact of a major welterweight title.
Garry agreed to step up and fight in “The City of Fountains” after Plets’ former enemy Jeff Neal, after resigning from their scheduled match in Miami on April 12th. That alone should cure enough favors to keep him in the title lecture, even if he has a loss. However, if Garry can light up the Prates, his appeal for an opportunity for the Welterweight Championship will be undeniable from the absurdity.
“When you win on Saturday night, have a show that will face the Carlos Awards and finish him, there are no other options. “You will notify me of these fights immediately, you will show up and you will save the cards. That means I mean: when I win that belt, you can come and see me with that octagon.”
There is a high stake between Ian Machado Garry and Carlos prizes
Before facing Shavkat Rakhmonov in December, Garry was a perfect 15-0 in his mixed martial arts career. And losing to “Nomad” delayed his title aspirations, but winning his first defeat within the Octagon would probably bring him back to the title lecture.
Of course, Plets’ victory will be a major moment for the Brazilian, currently sitting as a candidate ranked 13th in the division. Defeating Garry could push him into the top 10, overtaking the Irishman’s 7th spot and setting the stage for his first shot at UFC Gold.
