Arsenal legend Ian Wright has collided with the way Liverpool’s board and management have handled the Trent Alexander Arnold Transfer Saga in recent years.
The Reds’ right-back recently confirmed that he will leave Anfield on a free transfer once his contract is over.
It is quite noteworthy that Liverpool allowed a player as important as Alexander Arnold to approach the end of his contract, and Wright believes he should have sold him two years ago.
Speaking about the latest episode of The Ouverlap, The Pundit gave his view that Liverpool had made all this wrong.
How Liverpool should deal with Trent Alexander Arnold?
Sticking to Alexander Arnold, Wright aimed at the club’s door, saying, “It’s not his fault, it has to look at the management. Can you (leave) such a player? You should have offered him something. It’s the club’s fault.
“They may have offered something, but it was too late… Please make a statement that we gave him the best deal we’ve given him to anyone on this team.
“It’s there. If he’s going to sign, we’re trying to sell him. It could have happened and it didn’t happen.”
Liverpool retained two other contract rebels
Thankfully, Liverpool was able to ultimately retain Mohamed Sarah and Virgil van Dik.
These two have also come very close to becoming free agents, but their new deal has recently been officially confirmed.
Still, let me remind you that the LFC has fallen into an absolute disaster this summer.
Alexander Arnold appears to have made good use of the situation with his achievements, and according to BBC Sports and others, he likely achieved a dream move for Real Madrid for next season.
