The Milwaukee Bucks signed Miles Turner in a shocking free agency move, adding a proven veteran point guard this summer to maximize Giannis’ Anteto compo.
The Milwaukee Bucks decided to go all-in on the best players after weeks of trade rumours surrounding Giannis Antetocompo, and abandoned Damien Lillard to make room for the addition of off-floor center Miles Turner.
With Turner, Giannis and the cast of floorspace, regardless of what else they’re doing this summer, the Bucks should be able to compete in weak Eastern Conference. But their best point guard is Kevin Porter Jr., and Milwaukee can easily upgrade.
The Bucks are linked to another unlimited free agent, Chris Paul, but they were able to reunite with one of Antetocomo’s past teammates.
Malcolm Brogdon, who ranked 36th overall for the Bucks in 2016, appeared to be poised to become a long-term backcourt player at Milwaukee, earning his Rookie of the Year.
However, he was traded for the Indiana Pacers three years later for a first round pick to make room for an extension for Eric Bledsoe. Brogdon won the sixth Man of the Year and is one of the NBA’s more reliable facilitators and floor spaces when he’s healthy.
At the age of 32, Blogdon fits the Bucks timeline slightly better than Paul, and Washington Wizard is interested in completing the transaction.
“According to league sources, Wizard has embraced the sign-and-trade debate to promote Brogdon’s withdrawal from Washington, with many teams registering different levels of interest at age 32,” reported League Insider Jake Fisher. “That list includes the Clippers, Suns, Lakers, Warriors, Timberwolves, Pelican, King and Bucks.”
The Bucks need to win the Blogdon bid war, but they have already proven that this season they are all in to make the stars happy and keep their teams competitive.

Chris Paul is 40 years old and probably only has one season left in the tank. But he’s much cheaper than Brogdon if he’s willing to take a pay cut from his $10.4 million contract with the San Antonio Spurs last season.
At this stage of their career, Brogdon is a better defender and scorer, but Paul is always a better passerby. Neither is a ton of threats from Deep, but both can defeat shots.
Despite being eight years older, Paul is still more reliable. He started in all 82 games for the Spurs last season, but Blogdon has not appeared in more than twice in 65 games in his career.
However, with town Turner and multi-year windows appearing to be open, the Bucks don’t want to resume searching for point guards next summer. Despite his history of injury, Blogdon is a better fit if the Bucks can get him at a fair price.
