Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle’s postgame meeting was an insufficient effort to hide Tyrees Halliburton’s failure.
The Indiana Pacers took a 2-0 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
Considering the Pacers heading into Game 3, many were hoping for a 3-0 lead in the series. However, the Cavs totally dominated the Pacers as they passed a 126-104 defeat in Game 3.
The Pacers had a poor start to matchups as the Cavs outperformed Home Team 34-13 in the second quarter.
It won’t be over until one team wins four games in the series. Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle is totally aware as he didn’t move ahead of him despite a 2-0 lead in the series.
Carlisle also demonstrated his leadership skills during the post-match meeting of match three. The veteran head coach has taken remarkably responsible for his losses and vowed to get better.
“It was a very poor effort at the start of the game. It’s all for us. We all own it. Obviously, I wasn’t prepared for this.
“Thai had a rough game. I got him in and let him film, put him in a better position and put him in a better position. All of these kinds.
“The guys had a great week. It’s one game. If he (Tyrese Haliburton) was here, he would say, ‘I’ll be better,'” he added.
Carlisle was responsible, but Halliburton’s slow performance was the biggest reason behind the Pacers’ Game 3 loss.
Because of its value, Halliburton was phenomenal in the first two games of the series. In fact, he seemed on the path to prove that critics were wrong.
However, as he is the face of the franchise, he cannot disappear completely during a critical matchup.
Unfortunately, that’s what happened in Game 3. Halliburton finished the night with just four points, zero rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes of playing time.
On top of that, he shot two of Abyssmal 2 from the field while being minus 20 on the floor. FIN’s final claw was Halliburton, skipping the post-game press conference.
Given that he was so vocal when the Pacers won the game, it was a poor sign of leadership and could ruin the morale of the locker room ahead of the series’ important Game 4 contest.
