If it were up to Ilia Toplia, he would then fight the “butt pain” paddy field.
Topuria and Pimblett have been swapping oral jabs since 2022 when the pair nearly blew away at a London hotel. At the time, “El Matador” was busy climbing the featherweight division, while Pimblett took the world by 155, so it appears to be inside the Octagon.
However, that’s no longer the case after Topuria left his featherweight title early. Currently, “Elmatador” will face Charles Oliveira at UFC 317 in International Combat Week for the vacant Lightweight Championship.
If Topuria came to the top, he could open a collision course with Pimblett.
Ilia Topuria is ready to bring a collision between herself and Pimblett to UFC fans
“The Baddy” still has work to do before securing opportunities for the first UFC title, but Topuria is pleased to give him a shot. Not because he won it, but because he hates Ribapudrian so much.
“He’s a hypocrite,” Topria told ESPN Deportes. “I tell you, we remember once sharing the press conference and he said, ‘I’m fighting on the main card and you’re in qualifying.” Now I have two belts.
“He’s a pain in his ass. I want to give that fight to the fans. I believe he’s never seen a real fight in the UFC in a long time.
If he gets to the top against “Do Bronx” in Las Vegas’ “Do Bronx” with fighter-worthy fighters like Justin Gettey and Ahman Zarkikan waiting to see how things work on June 27th, Pimblett will rarely get a call to challenge Topuria.
However, given the hostility that exists between Topuria and Pimblett, the UFC may already be looking at the dollar sign, and it is becoming a very realistic possibility that an unlikely matchup has ever been made.
